Your Boat Home – Ruth Cohen-Rose

Your Boat Home

The most intolerable, unfeelable, unbearable pain is your boat home.
Sail it if you will.
Embark on the perilous journey to the unclaimed shores of your being.
The seas will be rough,
Something in you will drown in the depths
And you will lose your way.
You must lose your way
Because what you are looking for is off your map
or it would not be lost to you.
there will be no welcoming committee
But you will Welcome yourself Home.
Where does it hurt so badly you fear to stay?
I am quivering with excitement because although I do not know what you are going to meet,
I know with deepest certainly, you are going to meet Yourself.
To this, to you,
To everything, to drowning, to sinking,
Stormy skies and rough seas,
And to your boat
The little boat of whatever it is that is too unbearable
I bid you a most excellent adventure
A beautiful homecoming
And the embrace of the beloved that you are.
