Liz Gilbert on the Celtic Prayer of Approach

However aspirational this may seem (‘I am not subject to disappointment’), we agree with her about beautiful and wise. And it seems topical…

Here are the words, for those who have trouble seeing Facebook links:-

“Dear Ones –

I’ve been finding myself using this prayer a lot lately, whenever I approach a new situation, or a new person, or a new learning experience. It’s so beautiful and wise, and it puts my head and heart right where they need to be.

My favorite line: “I HAVE NO CHERISHED OUTCOMES.”

That’s Grace.”

Here’s the Celtic Prayer of Approach:-

“I honour your Gods,

I drink at your well,

I bring an undefended heart to our meeting place,

I have no cherished outcomes,

I will not negotiate by withholding, and

I am not subject to disappointment.”
