Sand Tray & Play Therapy: Jennifer Kerner & Jill Weadick

Jennifer Kerner and Jill Weadick doing a filmed session from their ‘Introduction to Sand Tray & Play Therapy’ training (noisy fan for a while from about 5 mins in!).

We have several therapists here who are experienced in working with sand, and we consistently notice the depth and power of this medium for some clients, perhaps especially those engaging with abusive or otherwise traumatic experience.

As Sana Loue puts it, in her book ‘Expressive Therapies for Sexual Issues’:-

‘Sandplay therapy is a medium for clients with abuse histories that offers a return to natural rhythms and a renewed state of consciousness and encourages a sense of safety to inhabit or reinhabit the body.’
